Be True to Yourself

My favorite quote from Socrates says, "To thine own self be true".

It is totally impossible for one's soul to be free if the individual is not true to self.

What does this really mean, for example, you say "well I'm not going to behave that way around that person anymore”. How is it that all of a sudden your behavior does the opposite of what your mouth said you would not do! What a coincident right? Anything that distracts you from moving closer towards your goal is only a sign you are definitely on the right track.

Life is funny, that is why our spirits, hearts and minds have to be in alignment with God. Our flesh constantly fights our desires to live for Christ. This is why we have to stay before God so that we are not tempted and if we become tempted we can resist the enemy and he will flee -James 4-7

When you are true to yourself others will follow suit. They will respect your decisions and the things you value most.

I encourage you to write down 3 things you need to be true to. Put them somewhere where you can see them. Say them aloud daily, speak them into existence and watch them come to life!
